Finding us
We are on University Avenue right between 43rd and Van Dyke, in the City Heights area of Mid-City, and we are easy to reach from the 15 Freeway.
What you will find at Mid-City
- Flowerhorn cichlids — our flowerhorn stock is held at this location. Thai Silk, SRD and ZZ lines, each sold as an individual specimen rather than as generic stock.
- Arowana — silver, jardini and black. Come talk through tank size before you commit; these fish get large and live a long time.
- Monster fish and large cichlids — the centerpiece animals that need a serious tank behind them.
- Plecos — including rarer L-number species.
- Koi and goldfish.
- Freshwater tropical fish — the full community range alongside the specialty stock.
Come talk before you buy
More than anywhere else in the hobby, the fish at this store need the right tank behind them. A silver arowana reaches two to three feet and does most of that growing in its first two years; a full-grown flowerhorn wants a tank to itself. We would genuinely rather talk you into the right setup — or out of the fish entirely — than have it come back to us at eighteen inches. Bring your tank dimensions and a water sample and we will give you a straight answer.
