Melanotaenia praecox thrives in well-maintained tanks with clean, oxygen-rich water, moderate current, and plenty of open swimming space. Dense planting and a darker substrate will help their colors pop. Feed a varied diet of flakes, micro pellets, and frozen or live foods like brine shrimp or daphnia to keep them healthy and vibrant.

They don't get too big compared to other rainbowfish and cope well with smaller sized fish.

They ship babies, but almost immediately after acclimation they were feeding and swimming around happily in the tank. Will definitely order from Pet Zone again.
