New Fish For First Week of April At Pet Zone SD

April has arrived, wow is 2022 flying right by so quick!

Melini Cory Cat "False Bandit" - Corydoras melini

The Melini Cory Cat is an uncommon corydoras species, they are becoming readily available in the fish keeping hobby now. These guys originate from the rivers and streams of the Amazon. As with all other Cory Cats, they are peaceful and do well in groups of 5 or more.

Also known as the False Bandit Cory Cat. Some label it as the Bandit Cory Cat but the Metae Corydoras is the actual Bandit Cory.

Peacock Gudgeon - Tateurndina ocellicauda

The Peacock Gudgeon is the most popular freshwater "sleeper goby" fish and has a striking appearance (especially the males), hence their name.

They are a peaceful fish though they shouldn't be kept with bite sized fish or inverts as they are predators. They thrive in planted tanks and their colors brighten up once they settle into their new homes.

Electric Blue Neon Stiphodon Goby - Stiphodon atropurpurensis

The Blue Neon Stiphodon Goby is a sought after freshwater fish and has a striking appearance (especially the males). They are a good algae eater as well and underrated beautiful fish!

They are a gorgeous fish with awesome colors and love fast water flow. They thrive in planted tanks and their colors brighten up once they settle into their new homes.

Leaf Goblinfish (Butterfly Goby) - NEOVESPICULA DEPRESSIFRONS

This oddball fish is one of the less commonly seen Gobies and reach around 4" when adult size. They prey on just about anything they can fit in their mouth. The Butterly Goby will accept a number of different foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp and other meaty foods.

Avocado plecos, also known as L200 Pleco or Green Phantom Pleco are very nice and make a great addition to any tank and adds some nice exotic looking colors and a exotic touch to your fish tank!

Blue Ram - Papiliochromis ramirezi

These are some of the most beautiful fish out there and can stay with a number of different fish such as Angelfish or Discus.

Reticulated Hillstream Loach (Sewellia lineolata)

Their appearance makes them very eyecatching. It has a hydrodynamic body shape due to adapting to fast flowing waterways.

They come from fast moving waters.

Jaguar Cichlid - Nandopsis managuense

The Jaguar Cichlid is also commonly known as the Managuense Cichlid or Aztec Cichlid. Native to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras, these beautifully marked South American cichlids grow to resemble a patterns to that of a jaguar cat, hence the name.

Red Devil (Amphilophus labiatus)

This is an extremely aggressive fish and should only be kept by cichlid hobbyist who are familiar with this cichlids aggressive nature.

Parrot Cichlid - Hoplarchus psittacus

The Hoplarchus is the "true Parrot Fish" and is one rare fish that isn't typically seen in the fish hobby. This gorgeous fish is relatively peaceful for a cichlid though they can get territorial at times. They prefer softer and more acidic water and must have a very good filtration system to keep these fish healthy! Size is about 3-4 inches roughly.
