Tiger Shovelnose Catfish thrive in warm water ranging from 74–82°F, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0–7.5). Strong filtration is essential, as they are messy eaters and produce significant waste. A powerful filter system and regular maintenance are key to keeping their environment healthy.

These catfish are long-lived, with lifespans of 15 years or more when properly cared for. Because of their size, growth rate, and demanding space requirements, they are best suited for advanced fish keepers who can provide the large environments they need.
