It's been a long while since we've seen some of these newly stocked oddball fish here at Pet Zone SD. Here are 4 of the newest oddballs to hit our store-floor:
1. ALLIGATOR HILLSTREAM LOACH (GECKO LOACH / GREEN LIZARD LOACH) Their appearance makes them very eyecatching. It has a hydrodynamic body shape due to adapting to fast flowing waterways. They come from fast moving waters. The oddball cousin to the popular UFO Loach/normal Hillstream Loach. 2. Starry Night Eel
Also known as the Longtail Spiny Eel. These eels are fun to watch while they swim around the tank and make a great addition to your fish tanks! They are some of the smaller species of the spiny eel family and max out at around 14". Their spotted patterns resemble stars in the night, giving them the Starry Night Eel common fish name. They have cool movements and add a bit of exotic-ness to any freshwater tank. They are about 4-5" or so in size at the moment.
3. Forest Halfbeak
This beautiful livebearing Halfbeak species fish has very vibrant colors along their fins, tails and mouth. They are carnivores and can be fed a mixture of live or frozen foods as well as flakes. This oddball livebearer is super popular for its unique look and snout looking mouth. Though timid at first, they will become lively fish after adjusting to their new surroundings and can be kept in varying pH/water hardness levels and fresh to slightly brackish water! Size is about 3/4" to 1.25 inches. Also known as the Malayan Halfbeak.

4. Stonefish aka Freshwater Lionfish Note, this is a Brackish Water fish that can only be kept in freshwater short-term. Also known as Freshwater Stonefish, Three-Spined Frogfish or Toadfish. Full size as adults is 12". Current size is 4" to 6".
