Deep black vertical tiger-like stripes over a dusky red to bluish base
-
Compact, nano-sized predator with a strong personality
-
Best kept in species-only or carefully chosen nano setups
-
Males display brighter colors and occasional territorial behavior
-
Rare in the hobby – highly sought after by advanced nano fish keepers
Care Tips:
Dario sp. “Myanmar” thrives in a heavily planted aquarium with plenty of hiding places, leaf litter, and low to moderate flow. They prefer soft, slightly acidic water and subdued lighting. These micropredators require live or frozen foods such as baby brine shrimp, daphnia, or microworms—most will not accept dry foods. Keep a single male with several females to reduce aggression, or in a well-planned species tank.
With their bold appearance and unique behavior, the Black Tiger Dario is perfect for aquarists looking to create a distinctive and naturalistic nano environment.
The Black Tiger Badis is an uncommon cousin of the commonly seen Scarlet Badis and Chameleon Badis.
They can be shy but do come out after getting used to their surroundings.
Max size is around 1.5 inches.
