Figure 8 Puffer - Tetraodon biocellatus
The Figure 8 Puffer is one of the most active puffers in the hobby. This brackish water fish doesn't get too big (max size is about 3 inches).
Their puppy-like antics makes them desirable. But caution needs to be taken for tank mates as they can get quite aggressive.
Size is about 1.5 inches.

5 star arrival, 2 star health
I ordered two Figure 8 puffers.
The good: Shipping went smoothly and I was thrilled to see that the heat pack was still warm. Both arrived alive and readily ate after acclimation. They also swiftly fixed my developing snail problem (my tank is heavily planted).
The bad: one was missing a dorsal fin and I suspect has ick. Also, the other appears to have some sort of eye infection which developed within the span of 24 hours. This has led me to begin the long process of medicating both of the fish.
I’m not really all too bothered by the infections (suspected) considering that the puffers are generally wild caught. I’m dissatisfied with receiving a puffer with a missing a dorsal fin.
