Endlicheri Bichir - Polypterus endlicheri Also known as the Saddled Bichir. They have a unique look that monster fish and oddball fish keepers like! About 2.5-3 inches roughly. The Saddled Bichir is a prehistoric looking fish, a true monster fish indeed! Endlicheri is known as a “lower jaw” type of Bichir due to its lower jaw that covers the upper lip. Coming from the still waters of Africa these fish are hardy and undemanding. Endlicheri becomes a massive fish with a heavy body that may grow up to 30”, requiring a very large tank. Bichirs are slow growing in general and can be upsized accordingly. A regular aquatic dinosaur!

Healthy and awesome
I bought this and an delhezi at the same time as a rope fish. Holy moly the trio is inseparable. They lay all over each other and are not at all shy. Very well socialized to other fish and humans. I love how smart they are. Mine eat live meal worms and red worms.

This Fish is my favorite, He is about 3 inch and very active feeder, robust and healthy. He is going to end up in my 390 gallon as soon as he puts on more size. PetZone Staff are the reason why I keep using them, you guys Rock!

This fish is awesome, I've never known anything about these species before until I saw a. Polypterus Senegalus species in Petsmart when I was looking for fish for my tank, he was a tiny little guy but he's now over 6 inches, I feed him bloodworms and he loves it, I read up on the Endilicheri Bicher species and they grow big, right now I jave a 75gallon tank with two 400 Emperor filters, one day I'll upgrade to and 125 or 200gallon tank, the one that I purchased is a small juvenile and have some time for him to grow, I give Pet Zone two thumbs up and highly recommend them to anyone who are looking to buy healthy fish for their aquarium.

I love the fish, it arrived active and looks great in my tank. How ever I am upset that that is the biggest one you guys had, I think you guys should have some bigger ones. Also there was no information provided as to if it was wild caught or tank raised.

Very Pleased
Hey I ordered one of these guys on sunday, and I got him today at around 10:00. I wasn't home I was at work so I had my sister acclimate him for me and put him in my tank. Currently he is in the tank with 4 other bichirs two regular senegalus, and one albino senegalus. I am trying to get a delhezi that is longer then an inch or two but that seems to be the only size I can find. He is very lively and looked really healthy in the pictures my sister sent me. I will defeinitely buy a delhezi the day they get more in stock, and buy more fish in general for when I get a bigger tank. Thanks so much I was very pleased. And his colors look absolutely gorgeous.

Very pleased with the livestock
I ordered one of these guys about 3 weeks ago. He arrived healthy and happy and acclimated to my tank with no problems. He was eating the first day i got him and gets along great with my other bichirs. Since most LFS around my house don't have a very wide selection of fish I need to go online to find the cool stuff. I'm very happy i found this website and i will definitely be getting more livestock from these guys in the future.

Great Healthy Happy Fish!
Can't find these guys anywhere here in the NJ area and i you can the guy at the LFS store says maybe 4 weeks and we might have one. Unfortunately for them I'm not that patient. The prices here are crazy low compared to the chance opportunity you get here to shell out 100 or more dollars it just makes more sense to buy it here from a reputable dealer and pay the shipping and handling (that part sucks). The fish is happy and eating well, not too agro and likes his senegalus room mate!!! a Million thumbs up!

I had one of these guys who are notoriously difficult to find in LFS around my house. i could have got a Delhezi but i have a affinity for the lower jaw Bichirs. This one is beautiful and happy, he gets along great with my 8 inch Senegals . The only thing that is sort of out of their hands is the shipping cost, I had to have over knight from CA to NJ so the shipping was twice the cost of the fish and he was a little small. Nothing some beef heart and Hakari sinking wafers wont remedy. If i ever need help stocking a monster thank in the future these guys are who im going to send my business to. The have great product and the give you healthy animals at a veryy veryy reasonable price!
