Chopstick Snail (Stenomelania torulosa)

Chopstick snails are hardy aquarium snails that look like the Malaysian Trumpet Snails, but will not overrun your tank as they do not breed as easily. They are nocturnal by nature, and like to burrow, which is helpful to prevent anaerobic pockets in your substrate!

Max size: 4”

Minimum tank size: 10 gallons

    Adorable Addition to the Tank

Posted by Sam on 23rd Jan 2022

It's nice to have a gravel cleaner that won't reproduce like bonkers. It's large size makes it really stand out in my 10-gallon tank. It arrived healthy and immediately made itself at home.

    Pretty Neat Snail

Posted by Jaimie Qua on 8th Jan 2020

I really like this snail. It is quite a bit larger than I expected, but I really like it. It’s a pretty snail! The Shell is almost all black with a white tip. It started burrowing into my small gravel shortly after I put it in the tank, then came back up to eat a bit of an algae wafer later. I think it’s a great addition to my tank, and I definitely recommend it. I would love to get more when I upgrade to a larger tank
